12th edition of the Young Hotelier Award kicks off at Palais Hansen Kempinski

The Young Hotelier Award (YHA) is an annual competition supporting and encouraging young talents with a passion for hospitality, organized by the General Management Council (GMC) of luxury hotels in Vienna.
The elegant Palais Hansen Kempinski in Vienna’s first district will play host to the awards ceremony for next spring’s prize and on October 8th held the Kick-Off Event where Viennese Hotel Managers and Human Resources Managers came to present their candidates for the Young Hotelier Award 2015.
Hani El Sharkawi, Head of MODUL Career, jury member, and winner of the first YHA award in 2003, was very pleased to see that four MU graduates have been selected by their companies to take part in the upcoming competition. In total, 19 candidates for the Diversey Award and 10 candidates for the MODUL Award were introduced by Ines Lochmann, HR Manager at the hosting hotel.
The 2015 YHA candidates were encouraged by motivating speeches from Mr. El Sharkawi and Reinhard Schwarz, YHA jury member and Managing Director of JohnsonDiversey Switzerland and Austria, who shared their personal experiences and talked about how much the winners' lives can change in a positive way.
The YHA Kick Off Event was a great opportunity for everyone to interact with colleagues from Vienna's luxury hotels, and our Modul Career team was very proud to see so many familiar faces. For the candidates it was an exciting evening, checking out their competition and realizing the amazing experience they are about to start!
The final award ceremony will take place on April 8th, 2015, when the MODUL Award winner will receive a full scholarship for an MBA at MU, and the winner of the Diversey Award will receive a scholarship at the Cornell University, NY.
