Academic Office welcomes Katrin Brückner

The Academic Office is pleased to welcome Katrin Brückner, who is the new program manager for the Bachelor of Science in International Management and Office Assistant.

Katrin has recently returned to her home town of Vienna, having spent the last 3 years working and studying in Montreal, Canada.

During her time in Montreal she studied at the Université de Montréal and worked towards a Master of Education and Cultural Sciences from the University of Vienna, writing in French on the topic a ''Quantitative Study of Language behavior of hispanophone Immigrants and their descendants in the city of Montreal and their impact on the French speaking society'', abstract here.  

In addition to German, French, and English, Katrin is also fluent in Spanish and spent time doing voluntary work in Costa Rica at a turtle protection camp in 2009 and in Guatemala at a daycare center in 2011. In previous experience in higher education she taught French and Spanish at the University of Vienna, was a Student Counselor/ Academic Assistant at EC Montreal Ltee. from May 2013 until returning to Austria.

At MU, Katrin handles the administration and organization of the semester for all BSc students, as well as travel organization for lecturers, lecturer data and contracts, reading packs, issuing transcripts, coordinating orientation and graduation, website maintenance, and student counseling.

No surprise for such a polyglot, Katrin is an avid traveler and has visited destinations such as Spain, France, Latin America, Africa, and the Caribbean. When back at home she enjoys traditional dancing, horseback riding, performing in the music group “Chormäuse”, hiking, reading books and scientific articles, and cooking.
