Embracing Diversity at MU

MODUL University Vienna has over 600 students, staff, and faculty from 60 different countries. We pride ourselves on our diverse international profile and the vibrant, multicultural learning environment that we create together. In order to maintain our culture of mutual respect and appreciation, the Equal Opportunity Working Party (EOWP) was created.

The work of the EOWP embraces a broad definition of diversity and its many facets including gender equality, special needs, religious freedom, etc. Our chief instrument in helping us to achieve our goal lies in our ability to raise awareness, facilitate dialogue, and advocate for change among students, staff, and faculty alike. We take an educational, remedial approach to implementing diversity management at MU that will allow our community to live and learn together in a safe and respectful space.

Recently, the EOWP visited a conference on the theme of diversity with a special focus on disability at institutes of higher education in Austria. The most revered institutes of higher education in Austria were in attendance and engaged in a dynamic discussion of case studies and the importance of developing and implementing diversity strategies at home. EOWP representatives Lidija Lalicic, Chairwoman, and Darrah Lustig, Diversity Manager, were honored to represent MODUL University Vienna because it is our responsibility as an institute of higher education “to support the right of all students to enjoy an education.”

Please visit our website for more information on the EOWP as well as our contact information. It is our pleasure to serve a community that values and celebrates diversity in its many forms. Please feel free to contact your EOWP members at any time!
