MU hits stride at the Wien Energie Business Run

Three teams from Modul University Vienna participated in the Wien Energy Business Run 2014, Vienna’s biggest business running event, on the 4th of September. Our 9 trained-up Modulians ran alongside a record number of 27,708 runners and nordic walkers, completing the 4.1 km course in good time.

The starting point/finish line was at the Ernst Happel Stadium in the Viennese Prater, with much of the course running though one of Vienna’s largest and most beloved green spaces in the city.

MU was on the starting line with three well-prepared teams. one all female, one all male and one mixed. The months of training and preparation had both a positive team-building effect on the runners from both staff and faculty and promoted regular exercise.

MU’s teams included competition newbies as well as ‘ringers’ in the race; Our star runner, MBA Program Manager Verena Peer, placed second out of thousands in the 10k Austrian Women's Run in May, and Researcher and Lecturer Lidija Lalicic was interviewed by the MU News Network during her participation in the Vienna City Marathon in April.

With MU’s financial support and the official MU fan club on hand to cheer our runners to the finish line, the day turned out to be a successful sporting event!

We looking forward to the Business Run 2015 and are enthusiastic about being at the starting line with more MU running teams!
