The Academic Office welcomes Liani Drury, new MSc/PhD Program Manager

MODUL University would like to welcome Liani Drury to the Academic Office in the position of MSc/PhD Program Manager.

Liani is a recent transplant to Vienna from Johannesburg, South Africa, where she was Head of Academics at a distance education training provider specializing in human resources management and business training. She holds a degree in Accounting from the University of Pretoria and a Masters degree in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa.

‘’I have always been passionate about education and the personal development of others,’’ says Liani.

‘’Working in South Africa has provided me with lots of experience in the education industry. I was involved in accreditation processes, curriculum development, quality assurance, graduation ceremonies and many student success stories. Whilst I was formally appointed to educate others I cannot help but acknowledge the lessons I learnt from many disadvantaged students who succeeded even in the midst of dire personal circumstances.

As for Vienna, it did not take me long to fall in love with this vibrant city, its cathedrals, coffee shops and heurigers.  Summer in its fullness and a job with the best view of Vienna will make any foreigner feel welcome. I have made new friends, climbed on the wrong bus, searched aimlessly for UK electrical adaptors, spoken broken German-Afrikaans-English, found the best ice cream parlors and even managed to guide some tourists. Every day brings new adventures in Vienna!

I believe that we all possess something special within us to create a life we can be proud of and we can excel in. Education helps us to discover and develop these skills and talents and inspires us to be the best versions of ourselves. Working at Modul University provides an opportunity for me to be part of this journey of discovery for students and I am extremely excited about this prospect. Please feel free to come visit and meet me at the ACO, I would love to meet you and I cannot wait to play a part in your future development!’’
