The Student Service Center welcomes Glen Dalton

The Student Service Center is pleased to welcome Glen Dalton who will be the new Student Services Coordinator!

Adding to the international mix at MU, Glen brings a British accent and desire to answer student questions, plan activities and orientation weeks, and enrich the student life. He grew up near Derby in the UK and studied at Lancaster University, where he earned a BA in geography.

After graduation, he moved to Manchester, UK and worked in sales for an energy company. He then had his first foray into customer service and hotel support at hotel booking platform laterooms.com.

In August 2012, Glen came to Vienna and took up the position of Project Coordinator at the Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, organizing conferences and training events for government officials from the Eurasia region and Africa. This experience gave him an insight into working in an international environment as well as the Austrian university system. He met government officials from over 45 countries and also had the chance to run courses externally. Not one to rely solely on his native English speaker status, Glen has been steadily improving his German skills since moving to Austria.

Outside of the professional world, Glen is a big sports fan. He has played on a local Viennese football team and also enjoys running, cycling, and, because he's English, of course cricket! He is looking forward to joining the football club and looking into ways in which the SSC can further its sports interaction.
