Ulrike Bauernfeind is Assistant Professor at the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management. She obtained her PhD from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. She also worked there at the Institute for Tourism and Leisure Studies as a research and teaching assistant from 2002 until 2006. In 2006, she joined the Tourism Department of Sunderland University, UK, before working at Modul University. Her research interests include e-tourism, online recommendation systems, web site evaluation, online consumer behavior and heritage tourism. She participated in the European funded research projects ISAAC (Integrated e-Services for Advanced Access to Heritage in Cultural Tourist Destinations) and DieToRecs (Intelligent Recommendation for Tourist Destination Decision Making).
