Dr. Pierre Benckendorff is Senior Lecturer and Chair of Learning in the School of Tourism at the University of Queensland, Australia.

For the third year, MODUL University Vienna will be hosting an evening of dance, food, culture, and fun from around the globe. 18 different nations will be represented from our diverse student body, with at least three times that many attending!

Terry Stevens is Managing Director of the award winning international tourism consulting agency, Stevens & Associates.

Katrin Melle is Director of Human Resources for Hyatt International, Europe, Africa and Middle East, based in Zurich, Switzerland.

Hyatt manages, franchises, owns and develops Hyatt branded hotels, resorts and residential and vacation ownership of 478 properties around the world. Ms. Mellehas been with Hyatt since 1989, holding several positions in Rooms, Training and Human Resources, and served as Area Director of Human Resources for Hyatt in Central Europe before moving into her current position.

Christian Wichman is Senior Brand Consultant at brand:trust, Nuremberg, and supports his customers with the development and the implementation of their brand strategies.

After receiving a banking education at Deutsche Bank, he studied at the Sorbonne in Paris as well as at New York University, where he became familiar with PR and marketing practices working on branding strategies for Timberland, Avaya and Amway Cosmetics. Mr. Wichmann’srecent work also focuses on ‘’Employer Branding“.

MU added another success story to its growing list of achievements. On Monday, April 23rd, MODUL University Vienna received the Sustainability Award 2012 in the category of Structural Foundation for the programs ‘’MU Cares’’, ’’Scholarship of Hope’’, and ‘’Employee Sustainability Award’’.

With more than 800 million monthly active users, the Facebook platform bears significant potential for scientific projects. A team of scientists in Austria has tapped into this potential with a social media application to collect information on climate change awareness and the users’ knowledge about the underlying processes. Players face two types of challenges to increase their score: selecting correct relations between two environmental concepts, and answering climate change related questions.
