Google Online Marketing Challenge. The global online marketing (AdWords) competition saw more than 1600 student teams from 47 countries around the world. MU-Vienna’s second semester bachelor of tourism and hospitality management students even competed with scholars of post graduate programs in diverse fields.
The outstanding team led by Mohamed Yehia Ahmed was comprised of Mona En-Nazer, Ying Tang, Unterscheider Elisabeth, Unterscheider Julia and Nikki Mahshid. They put a great AdWords campaign into practice, making it within the top 10% of teams worldwide and almost reached the semi-finals. The team promoted the “Hotel zur Post”, a privately run hotel in Salzburg (Austria). The students gained practical experience in online marketing, became experts in managing state of the art Google AdWords campaigns, worked in teams, and acted like consultants working with a real life business. Furthermore, all participating student teams of MODUL University Vienna are now prepared to market their prospective businesses online in the future using Google AdWords. Congratulations from the lecturers: Arno Scharl and Clemens Költringer.
