MU Vienna expands its range of study courses and appoints an eminent international academic

Professor Harvey Goldstein possesses a long and successful academic career in the U.S. in the area of Public Governance. We are privileged to have him at MODUL University Vienna. He previously worked at the Department of City and Regional Planning of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill (USA). There, he taught and conducted research in the field of regional economic development which he will continue to do at MU Vienna.

“Harvey Goldstein is our first cast for the leadership of the new and unique Department for Public Governance”, MODUL University Vienna’s President Karl Wöber states. Harvey Goldstein’s principal research and teaching interests include the role of knowledge-based institutions like technology parks, research centers and universities in the governance and development of regions. He is also an acknowledged expert in regional labor market analysis and economic forecasting, which is manifested through his collaboration with several UN and US authorities.

Ready for tomorrow’s challenges. The new postgraduate MBA in “Public Governance and Management” offers an insight into the interaction of social, economical and political players in political decisions. Issues of the changing roles of states and status of supranational institutions are examined. At the same time, the practical tools are provided to master the challenges arising out of this change in the international landscape.

MODUL University Vienna, the University of Vienna, the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration and numerous international experts will safeguard the MBA’s quality. For an international and highly qualified clientele, the courses will be conducted in English. In such a way, this study program complements other MODUL University’s programs - the BBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management and the Professional MBA in Tourism Management and an MBA in New Media Technology and Management – in all of which enrolment is still possible until the end of September.
