European Cities Online Benchmarking Tool version 2.0

parishotel.jpg

MODUL Research is working on the second version of the European Cities Online Benchmarking Tool, which is being designed for the Benchmark Group of European Cities Marketing. The aim of the online tool is to administer the necessary city tourism statistics in an easy and efficient way.

The data is provided by TourMIS for the online system and is used to benchmark European cities based on their arrivals, bednights, capacity, and occupancy rates. The results of the benchmark calculations are shown as graphs, which can be downloaded in commonly used formats. In addition to these features, the new version will include a forecasting function, which automatically calculates trends and forecasts based on the latest data available in TourMIS.

Another new feature of the system will be the addition of economic indicators such as Unemployment Rate, Economic Sentiment Indicator, Consumer Confidence Indicator, Currency Exchange Rate, Stock Market Development and Private Consumption Growth. Graphs developed in this section will not only show the differences of indicators in city tourism benchmark markets, but also the relationship of individual indicators and the development of demand (bednights) in European cities and countries.

For more information, the system can be accessed at www.citytourismbenchmark.com
