Last holiday season, the MU Vienna community got into the spirit of giving. Students, faculty and staff participated in a variety of initiatives to help out those less fortunate.

MU students also launched MU’s first major in-house charity drive, in cooperation with the Flüchtlingsprojekt Ute Bock, an organization dedicated to assisting asylum seekers in Austria. The drive was led by a team of three dedicated students: Natascha Soerensen, Jonathan Hess and Marina Bartoletti, with MU’s Student Service Center providing assistance. Weeks of fundraising on and off campus resulted in funds for around 70 care packages filled with food and necessities. The boxes were filled and wrapped by students, staff, and faculty in between cookies and home-made Punsch at the “packing party”. “It was a great experience with all the support and positive response we got from Modul students and teachers,” said Ms. Soerensen of the campaign.

Students and faculty also responded to a call for volunteers from the United Nations Womens Guild, who hosted their annual Charity Bazaar in December. The event – the largest UN charity bazaar in the world according to its organizers - raised funds for children suffering from poverty around the globe.

Thanks to all in the MODUL community who gave to help the cause!
