Prof. Anthony Di Benedetto, Professor of Marketing and Supply Chain Management at Temple University, is spending this academic year as a Fulbright scholar at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

Prof. Dagmar Lund-Durlacher and Anja Hergesell participated in this year’s BEST EN Think Tank on „The Importance of Values in Sustainable Tourism“. The four day conference (June 15-18) took place on the Singapore campus of James Cook University and featured keynote speeches, research presentations and break-out sessions devoted to the development of an online wiki on the conference theme. Dagmar and Anja presented the research findings of a study on the female workforce in the Austrian hospitality market.

From June 30 until July 1, 2009, Anja Hergesell represented MU Vienna at the first conference on European Universities for a sustainable and competitive tourism.

On April 16, 2009 students of MU Vienna's Bachelor program visited the Hofburg Vienna, one of the top conference venues in Austria and worldwide. The Hofburg Vienna had invited students of tourism educational institutions to introduce them to the fascinating world of congresses and events. The aim was to present typical and possible future works within the sector, and giving prospective tourism professionals the chance to learn about opportunities and establish networks with major players.

On Wednesday, December 3, 2008, MU Vienna hosted a panel discussion on "Climate neutral" travel offers organized in cooperation with the NGOs respect (Institute for Integrative Tourism and Development), Naturfreunde Internationale and Klimabündnis Österreich.
