Researchers from MODUL University Vienna participated in this year's European Cities Marketing (ECM) annual conference held from June 9 to 12 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Participation in expert groups and workshops indicates the well-established cooperation between ECM and MODUL University Vienna, based on over 13 years of involvement by Prof. Karl Wöber in the organization.
Social Media Marketing - Hands On!
MODUL University Vienna 6th semester students just finished an applied online marketing project in cooperation with the Vienna Tourist Board (www.vienna.info). The students who took part in the e-Marketing seminar designed a social media campaign which covers prominent social networks such as facebook, youtube, twitter and flickr. The aim of the campaign is to present Vienna to an international audience of young travelers and show what Vienna has to offer beyond prestigious imperial heritage sights.
From March 25th – 28th, the foremost tourism researchers of Europe gathered for the first time in Vienna to attend the annual conference of the Tourist Research Center (http://trc.aiest.org). The „Who‘s Who“ of tourism research came together not only to discuss current research projects but also the forthcoming challenges for tourism especially with consideration of the difficult economic situation faced today.

TRC and MODUL University Vienna jointly developed and implemented this first online representation to create visibility of the club of tourism researchers and consultants.
MODUL University Vienna has just recently launched three fanpages on the social networking platform Facebook. Besides a general representation of the University on Facebook, there is a page for the Bachelor of Business Administration in Tourism and Hospitality Management and the Master of Business Administration in New Media Technology and Management programs.
