Financial Management

This course provides the foundations of finance. Its objective is to convey useful and helpful knowledge for the students' future career, e.g. financial mathematics and the understanding of the cost of capital principle. It will strengthen the students' knowledge of the securities traded in financial markets. Also, the usefulness and applicability of financial markets and instruments is outlined. Students will become familiar with much of the terminology used in financial markets. Good practice in finance all over the world applies more or less sophisticated concepts and models (e.g. the NPV concept, the IIR concept, or the Dividend Discount Model) to solve financial problems. The most important of these financial concepts, for both personal and corporate use, will be discussed.
