Dr. M.G. Ceddia, will be presenting some of his most recent work at the next conference of the International Society of Ecological Economics in Rio de Janeiro from June 16-19th 2012.

MU will be attending the BEST EN Think Tank XII – Mobilities and Sustainable Tourism, held in Greoux les Bains, Provence, June 24-27 2012. SKEMA Business School and La Cité de la Culture et du Tourisme Durable will be hosting the 12th annual event in the south of France.

MU alumnus and Recruitment & Marketing Coordinator Leopold Spiegelfeld is heading to our eastern neighbours to inform high schoolers about their educational options just over the border, visiting the international School of Bratislava and Forel International School in Bratislava, Slovakia and the American and Christian Schools of Budapest, Hungary. For potential students, his firsthand experience in the BBA in Tourism & Hospitality Management is invaluable in painting a vivid picture of life at MU. He'll be out and about from February 27th-29th.

Continuing yearly tradition, representatives of MODUL University Vienna will host a booth at the BeSt student fair from the 8th - 12th of March, 2012. The four day event is the biggest educational fair in Austria, held at the Vienna Stadthalle.

Led by MODUL Career Head Hani El-Sharkawi, and Tourism faculty Prof. Dr. Dagmar Lund-Durlacher and Florian Aubke, the MU entourage of students and staff will make their annual expedition to the ITB Berlin, the world’s leading travel trade show.

From March 7th – 11th, 2012, more than 180,000 visitors and 10,000 exhibitors will gather at the Messe Berlin for 5 days of conventions, speakers, and displays showcasing the latest developments in travel and tourism around the globe.

MU’s involvement in the international Tourism Education Futures Initiative (TEFI), is taking University President Karl Wöber to Delhi and Jaipur, India to speak at the regional conference entitled ‘’The Future of Tourism Education and Growth of Tourism in Asia-Pacific: Vision, Values and Principles,’’ from March 1st-4th.

Hani El-Sharkawi, Head of Modul Career, will be heading to his native Egypt to participate in the Arab-European Young Leaders Forum (AELYF), held from February 5th-9th in Cairo.

Hani El-Sharkawi is a busy man this winter, representing Modul Career and MU everywhere from right here in Vienna, to Berlin, Cairo, and Prague. From January 18th-22nd, he will be visiting our neighbor to the north at the International AICR Presidium Meeting in Prague, Czech Republic.

As part of the ‘Ferien-Messe Wien - International Fair for Holidays, Travel and Leisure’, Naturefriends International and ECPAT (End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes) will be hosting a series of seminars entitled ‘Corporate Social Responsibility in Tourism – For Experts by Experts’.
