Summary of the 6th Barcamp Vienna

6th BarCamp Vienna Opening Session On June 13th and 14th, the 6th Barcamp Vienna took place at MODUL University Vienna, blessed with perfect weather and an impressive view over the Austrian capital. The program was created interactively by the participants, covering a broad range of topics related to new media technology. Events in the Barcamp Series are free to attend and provide a more casual setting compared to classic conferences. However, this does not imply that the topics are presented in a less professional manner, or that they are being discussed less seriously.

Around 180 participants found their way to Kahlenberg. Barcamps are all about sharing knowledge, not only in person at the event itself but also on the Web. Using the tag "bcvie" (defined before the event), a lot of content was published via various Web services, creating a comprehensive documentation of the weekend - e.g., images, bookmarks and microblogging activities.

The 6th BarCamp Vienna has been a successful event with two intense days of presentations, knowledge exchange and networking. The MU Vienna team would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who contributed to a rich and diversified program.
