What is Welcome Week?

MU Welcome Week is a chance for ALL new students to get acquainted with the university and each other. The week is full of fun events and informative seminars.  Things to be expected include:

  • Course Registration and explanation
  • Support for settling in Vienna: (Semester Transport Card, Bank Account, Student Insurance, etc.)
  • Sessions on Academics, the Library, and other university services.
  • Mandatory Placement Tests
  • Fun Social Events
  • Excursions
  • ...........and much much more!

Welcome Week FAQs

When is Welcome Week?

Orientation is held just before the semester's start, in September and February.

Do I have to attend Welcome Week?

Yes, all new students must attend.

Do I have to register ahead of time?

Since attendance at Welcome Week is considered mandatory, all new students are automatically registered for it.

Is there a cost to attend Welcome Week? NO.

Welcome Week is free.  All students should bring money, however, for meals (after the first day), and deposits for building keys etc.
