e-Government

After successful completion of this course students will be able to describe e-government and identify key e-government terms. Throughout the course students will be asked to compare and contrast successful and unsuccessful e-government initiatives while recognizing various types of e-government offers. The outcome is for students to establish a strong understanding of the relevance of Web 2.0 to e-government efforts and be able to critically assess emerging e-government efforts to determine their validity and potential impact.

Shannon Tufts is Assistant Professor and Director of the Center for Public Technology at the University of North Carolina’s School of Government. Her areas of interest include: information technology planning; electronic government; survey methodology; wireless technologies; and business process reengineering.
