Social Media Marketing - Hands On!
MODUL University Vienna 6th semester students just finished an applied online marketing project in cooperation with the Vienna Tourist Board (www.vienna.info [6]). The students who took part in the e-Marketing seminar designed a social media campaign which covers prominent social networks such as facebook, youtube, twitter and flickr. The aim of the campaign is to present Vienna to an international audience of young travelers and show what Vienna has to offer beyond prestigious imperial heritage sights.
On June 13th and 14th, the 6th Barcamp Vienna [10] took place at MODUL University Vienna, blessed with perfect weather and an impressive view over the Austrian capital. The program [11] was created interactively by the participants, covering a broad range of topics related to new media technology.
On April 16, 2009 students of MU Vienna's Bachelor program visited the Hofburg Vienna, one of the top conference venues in Austria and worldwide. The Hofburg Vienna had invited students of tourism educational institutions to introduce them to the fascinating world of congresses and events. The aim was to present typical and possible future works within the sector, and giving prospective tourism professionals the chance to learn about opportunities and establish networks with major players.

The Fifth Barcamp Vienna [16] will be held from 4 to 5 October 2008 at HP Vienna. BarCamp is an international network of user-generated conferences born from the desire to share and learn in open environments. It is an intense event with live demonstrations and active discussions.
