Eligibility: Open to all MODUL University's undergraduate and graduate students and applicants in tourism
Overview: Leading educators and scholars in the field of tourism are highly aware of the seismic changes the tourism industry faces. The Academy of Hope is an initiative of various tourism schools around the world that have recognized the students’ needs to effectively manage change in order to lead the industry in the future (see www.tourismeducation.at). Thanks to a donation from Professor Daniel Fesenmaier, Director of the National Laboratory for Tourism & eCommerce and Program Director of the Tourism and Hospitality Management Program at Temple University, USA, MODUL University Vienna provides grants (‘Scholarship of Hope’) for undergraduate or graduate students who come up with an original, innovative idea for a development strategy in tourism that meets the needs of the present and improves the welfare of future generations.
Recipients are selected at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee based on the review of the students’ project proposals.
Application format: There are no specific formal requirements for the application. However, the project proposal must not exceed 2,000 words. Applications can be submitted until June 30, 2010.
