Study, Research and Mobility Grant

Study, Research and Mobility Grants are intended to:
    i) Support research projects related to BBA or MBA theses
    ii) Help cover travel expenses for educational purposes
        (conferences, travel fairs, etc.)
    iii) Encourage mobility

MU Vienna awards Study, Research and Mobility Grants to students enrolled at MU Vienna at all stages* of the study program.

1) Application Deadline
The deadline to apply for a study grant is December 1, 2010. The award decision by the Merit Scholarship Committee will be announced three weeks after the deadline.

2) How To Apply

To apply for this grant, students are required to draft a detailed description of the project for which they hope to receive funding. This description should include a timeline** and a budget plan.  In addition to the detailed description, students must also submit a letter of motivation about why funding is needed and how it will aid the project.  All of this should be submitted to the Student Service Center.

3) Reference/Evaluation
In case the project is related to a specific course taught at MU Vienna, it is recommended to name at least one lecturer who can serve as a reference person to give further insights about the project and the need for support.

4) Study Grant Amount

The study grants are awarded on the basis of funds available, up to EUR 3.600 per student. Selection criteria are the quality of the application, seniority, study achievements, and financial need. Preference will be given to research projects related to BBA or MBA theses.  Please be aware that grants are awarded at the discretion of the committee.  

5) After Completion

After completing the funded work/project, students are required to submit a report regarding the appropriate use of the study grant within two weeks' time to the Merit Scholarship Committee. Applicants are expected to complete the project with above-average success.

*Students may not apply for and receive a study grant i) in addition to a merit scholarship ii) in the case of academic misconduct, recorded in the student's file.

**The work to be funded must not yet be completed at the time of application, however, it must be finished within a year after the grant has been awarded.
