Yehia
I chose to enter the Bachelor of Business Administration in Tourism and Hospitality Management at MODUL University Vienna because it has excellent academic courses. It is a strong practical useful study! Specifically, I chose to study at MODUL University Vienna because it is a new university and the first one in Austria to offer a Bachelor degree in Tourism & Hospitality Management. I have the opportunity to meet students from different countries and exchange different heritage and cultural experiences with them. That exchange is the actual demand for those who want to work in the tourism industry all over the world.

Additionally, MODUL University Vienna is not only an international academic institution that has a good reputation, but it also has a well experienced staff that makes efforts to assist all students with living arrangements and studying in Vienna.

I believe that having the chance to study different subjects in English at MU will improve my skills in English. I think one of the most attractive reasons for me and other international students to study tourism & hospitality management at MU is to do so in the first world common language - English.

Studying in an amazing tourist country such as Austria influenced me to enroll in the BBA program. Austria is located in the heart of Europe and I enjoy the unique location of MU in Vienna on the top of Kahlenberg hill where I can breathe fresh air and enjoy a panoramic view of Vienna. Even more, learning German and practicing it in a German-speaking environment is an advantage.

At MU, I study under the hands of international experts, professors and lecturers who give the students information about the job market after graduation. I hope to gain knowledge on the latest academic background and trends in the field of tourism that allow me to work better in either my home country or any other country abroad. I also hope to speak at least four foreign languages fluently, which are possible to learn at MODUL University Vienna. Moreover, through developing numerous contacts at MODUL University Vienna, I can do my internship for at least 3 months in any country I choose. After graduation, I am sure that many entrepreneurs will seek employees among MODUL University Vienna graduates.

I consider myself an open-minded person ready to accept difficult challenges and constantly willing to learn. That is why I decided to learn at MU, in which I put my deepest hopes for enabling me to become a valuable asset to my current employer. Once I graduate from MU, I will perform better at my job in my country at the Egyptian Tourism Authority, trying to transfer the great experience that I gained from MU to my colleagues at work, teaching tourism & hospitality courses in different private tourism institutions and using the same academic methods of MU. Furthermore, I strive to achieve my private dream to work as the director of one of the Egyptian Tourism Authority offices abroad and make my best effort to promote Egyptian tourism.

Thanks to the highest education system of MU and its competitive advantages, I am thinking of continuing my post-graduate studies in Marketing. I am looking for MU to launch a PhD programme and I hope to be among the first applicants after my graduation.

Finally, I would like to say to all prospective students from all over the world, by studying at MU you have decided to make the right choice at the right time. It is your first step towards a career in global tourism and you prepare yourself to find work easily.

Jing Jing, Xian, exchange student 2007/08 says:

Jing JingThank you so much for giving me this opportunity to study at MODUL University, Vienna.  I feel very honored to be an exchange student here, it´s an experience which really broadens my horizons in lots of ways.

Firstly, I appreciate the creative teaching method which MODUL has adopted – it is very different to the examination-oriented teaching method in China. It gives me more opportunity to think independently and widely.

Secondly, the content of the course taught here is very practical, something which can really help us to adapt to the social working environment in the near future.  As an old Chinese saying goes: Learning is for using.

Thirdly, experiencing the western culture and civilization here in Vienna, it feels like a new door is opening for me.  I feel astonished when I linger in the fantastic and numerous museums, that I just stand there speechlessly for a long time.  I have told my classmates in China that MODUL is very good and that Vienna is amazing!

But how time flies! Spring has arrived in Vienna. It is a lovely season, but not for me. Thinking that the time when I must leave Vienna is coming near, I become upset and realize that I have gradually fallen in love with Vienna - this quiet and beautiful city. I know that after I leave Vienna, I will miss everything here: my classmates, teachers, 38A bus, museums, and the friendly strangers. How I want to stay and study in MODUL for another school year. I really want to learn more about hospitality, and continue experiencing life in Vienna!
