Ebtesam Al-Zayer, scholarship student 2007/08 says:

Al Zayer

'I am from Saudi Arabia and live with my family in Vienna. I have a bachelor degree in Nutrition and have worked as a dietitian in a hospital and as a school teacher. It has always been my goal to seek higher education, especially now that my children are grown.
I became encouraged once I saw the MBA-Tourism Management program at MODUL University. The program has all the elements of a good solid program I was looking for, while also providing me with some flexibility on studying, as it is based on monthly modules of study. Due to the way it is structured, we get to attend lectures of teachers from all over the world who share their experiences with the students. The program also, it has a good group of students from different backgrounds that share their experiences and know-how in the classroom and make the class discussions very enriching. Also, the MBA program is taught in English. This highly encouraged me to enroll in the program.
On a personal level, working in the tourism industry has been my interest, and the MBA Program with emphasize on Tourism Management at MODUL fits my future career and personal goals. While my background has mainly been in teaching, I have always enjoyed traveling and living in different parts of the world. This expanded my horizon, introduced me to new cultures and broadened my knowledge about other countries. Obtaining a degree in the field of tourism will provide me with the opportunity of shifting my career to working in an area that I enjoy very much. Also, this will prepare me to contribute to my country, as the overall region I come from (Middle East Gulf Region) is a thriving region with a strong emphasis on tourism to make the overall region a major attraction for international tourism.
Living in Austria, where tourism plays a key economical contributor, made me realize how important this sector of the economical well-being of a country is if it is planned well. Living in Austria encouraged me to pursue this program. I am really glad I did.'

Moira Galic, scholarship student 2008/09 says:

'My name is Moira Galić and I am from Croatia where I live and work. I have a bachelor degree in economics, and for the past 5 years I’ve been working for a well-known Croatian hotel chain as the manager of the entertainment department. Last year I was given a chance to enroll in the MBA program in Tourism Management at MODUL University Vienna, which I accepted immediately, since I knew from the day of my graduation at the University of Economics that I wanted to continue my education.
After reading given material and information about MBA program, I expected the program to be challenging and to learn new things from respected professors and professionals in tourism field. Not only has MODUL University fulfilled my expectations, but it has also provided a unique experience in a friendly and international environment, complementary nature of courses and great possibilities to participate in open discussions with professors and colleagues that have provided fantastic new knowledge and cognition about different cultures. We are all given new findings, approaches and methods about many important things in tourism, especially emphasizing the importance of destination management, which is very much needed in Croatia.
Half-way through, I realized that I have developed and expanded my analytical skills as well as my presentational skills, and I also noticed that I am already using many things that I’ve learned in my everyday work. Since I am a full-time student, and I also work full-time in tourism, it is a big challenge to fulfill and organize all my obligations, but the organization of the terms (monthly modules) and flexibility and understanding of the professors makes everything possible.
Even though I haven’t graduated from the MBA program yet, I have already been promoted to a hotel managerial position, which is a real proof that studying at MODUL University is definitely helping my professional and personal life.
In the end, I can say that deciding to participate in the MBA in Tourism Management at MODUL University was one of the best choices I’ve made, because it helps my career, offers new knowledge and acquaintances, and allows me to develop myself in a professional and personal way.
I wish MODUL University many successful years and students to come. '
