Bernd Schuh is member of the board of directors of the Austrian Institute for Regional Studies and Spatial Planning (OIR) and has more than 15 years of working experience in the fields of EU policy, environmental economics, regional economics and rural development. Being a graduated economist, he has specialized in regional and spatial development issues and has shown his competency in these fields through various research projects, university courses (both undergraduate and graduate) and publications. The field of EU regional development has been an especially vital part of Bernd Schuh’s work in recent years. He is working as senior expert in various EU policy fields, providing consultancy services in the fields of regional, agricultural, social and energy policy. Relevant projects in which Bernd has actively participated include Regional Challenges in the Perspective of 2020 – phase 2: Deepening and broadening the analysis, Regional Governance in the context of Globalization and Ex-ante evaluations of RD Programs. Bernd will share his expertise with MU students in the course European Union Policies as part of the MBA in Public Governance and Management program.
