What is Orientation Week?

MU Orientation Week is a chance for all new students to get acquainted with the university, Vienna, and each other. The week is full of fun events and informative seminars.

Orientation Week FAQ's

Orientation for all Fall 2017 students will take place on the following days:

  • BSc/BBA: September 18 - 22
  • Graduate students: September 20 

Yes, all new students must attend.

Since attendance at Orientation Week is considered mandatory, all new students are automatically registered for it.

No. Orientation Week is free. All students should bring money, however, for meals (after the first day), and deposits for building keys, events, etc.

Original copies of:

  • Passport
  • High School Leaving Certificate
  • Proof of proficiency in English (if necessary)
  • Your social security number (Austrian citizens only)
  • Your postal address in Vienna

Please also bring 20 EUR for your university key deposit and extra cash for orientation week events.

All official documents will be issued during orientation week or the first week of classes.

Course registration for undergraduate students begins on September 4th at 10:00 and closes on September 29th at 17:00.

Course registration for graduate students begins on September 4th at 10:00 and closes on September 22nd at 17:00.

All information is included in emails that are sent to to you in the weeks before Orientation Week. We can also help you during orientation week. Don't stress!

Please, note that all the hours are based on Austria's time zone (CET). Therefore, depending on your geographical location the times might vary.

You can apply to get a MU buddy who will pick you up from the airport and assist you with getting settled. For more information see the arrival information form and buddy information sheet in the email that will be sent to you.

Bachelor students: September 25th
