MODUL School of Tourism and Hospitality Management Nanjing opens its doors

This Tuesday, the first 57 Chinese students were received at the new MODUL School of Tourism and Hospitality Management Nanjing, in cooperation with the renowned Nanjing Tech University Pujiang Institute in Nanjing, China. The opening ceremony was held in the presence of several high-ranking guests from the Austrian foreign ministry in China, the city of Nanjing, Nanjing Tech University, and MODUL University Vienna.
These 57 young students represent the first cohort in Asia who have the opportunity to study under Austrian educational standards to complete an English-language Bachelor's degree with from MODUL University Vienna in the field of tourism management at the Nanjing Tech University Pujiang Institute.
Study Tourism in China according to Austrian educational standards
At the beginning of 2016, MODUL University Vienna began an innovative educational cooperation with the Nanjing Tech University Pujiang Institute. The Chinese university showed great interest in offering its predominantly Chinese students an internationally-established tourism degree from MODUL University, and thus the MODUL School of Tourism and Hospitality Management Nanjing was founded.
At the Nanjing Tech University Pujiang Institute in Nanjing, the second largest city in eastern China after Shanghai, the two institutions are now offering a joint English-language Bachelor in Tourism & Hospitality Management. MODUL University Vienna serves as a licensor to implement the program in China, which follows the exact same curriculum developed in Vienna and offered at MODUL University Vienna.
Andreas Zins, longstanding faculty member and Full Professor at the Department of Tourism and Service Management at MU Vienna, has been involved with the Nanjing cooperation since the beginning and will now serve as Dean of the MODUL School of Tourism and Hospitality Management Nanjing. The accreditation process with the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria and the Chinese Ministry of Science is ongoing.
Export - "Education"
With this program, MODUL University Vienna is making an important contribution to education and provides the basis for the intensification of international economic relations. Christian Hoffmann, Managing Director of MODUL University Vienna, had the vision to export the high-quality education offered by MODUL University Vienna outside Europe: "We see from our student numbers that the quality standards of Austrian private universities enjoy a very good international reputation. The decision to export was also supported by the consideration to heighten the profile of Austria as an education provider internationally".

Furthermore, MODUL University Vienna will ensure academic quality assurance. Mag.
