Modulian Lisa Unterganschnigg on winning team for Young Hoteliers Summit

Each year École Hôtelière de Lausanne invites top hospitality management schools to send their best students to participate in the three day Young Hoteliers Summit. The goal of the 10th edition of the YHS was to celebrate and illustrate the great diversity and width to which the hospitality industry has progressed.

This year, from 25th – 27th March 90 students from 45 universities across the world enjoyed networking opportunities, keynote speeches from industry leaders such as Virgin Galactic, and panel discussions tackling topics such as how to handle game changers in the distribution landscape, seizing top tech opportunities and experimenting with service quality in the hotel and hospitality industry.

The highlight of the event is ‘the Challenge’, whereby the 90 student attendees are divided into 16 teams to provide a solution to a real industry problem presented by the invited challenge provider: this year Accor Hotels.

We are proud to announce that Toursim, Hotel Management and Operations student Lisa Unterganschnigg (second from left in picture) was part of this year’s winning team.

The challenge, which was geared toward the event’s aim of narrating success stories while simultaneously building a roadmap for the future leaders of the industry, focused around three main principles of envisioning, defining and succeeding.

Applications to participate in next year’s Young Hotelier Summit will open in September, 2019. Modul University Vienna students can also speak to Eben Nel in Modul Career at any time for more information, or to learn about other exciting CV boosting opportunities.
