MU Industry Excellence Program and EVN Group

The MU Industry Excellence Program (IEP) pairs top MSc students with senior representatives of Austrian and international companies for on-the job experience in their chosen field. Chosen Modulians are mentored by senior-level managers to learn first-hand how management decisions are made in the modern business environment.

Based on the students’ interest, the MU program coordinator contacts potential mentors who are asked to take over the patronage of the respective students. Mentors are assigned to the students by mutual agreement.

As part of Modul’s Industry Excellence Program (IEP), MU MSc student, Thomas Wagner, has been given the opportunity to work for EVN AG, one of Austria’s leading electricity producers and transporters.

"My internship at EVN AG was a great experience. I was introduced to the company just like a new employee would be introduced. I was provided with the IT equipment and I went through the digital onboarding program to get to know the company.
Afterwards, I was introduced to the "Physical Security" project which I was to become part of because of prior experience in the sector. I was taken out in the field to assess physical security of a district heating plant and was included in meetings with the project team and external consultants to provide my own feedback and suggestions.
My task in the project was to formulate a business directive that would be implemented in all EVN AG subsidiaries in Austria, which was interesting and challenging at the same time.

I can only be thankful for the opportunity and recommend EVN AG as a company that values its employees and gives them ample opportunities for personal and professional development."
