A 3-course specialization aimed at providing students with a fast-tracked knowledge into Data Science, it’s importance in modern business and management, and how to apply it in practice.

Fundamentals of Computer Science and Programming
The main outcome of this course is to give students a solid foundation of knowledge in computer programming. You will study to understand fundamental algorithmic procedures and work towards being able to develop and run a software program. By the end of the course students should be able to design and implement basic programs and procedures, using Python.
Legal Aspects of Data Science
This course first takes students through understanding the characteristics of data quality, as well as the legislation and legal frameworks for date science. From this, students will be able to think of practical approaches to data science problems. The second half of the course focuses on data security from understanding how to defend and protect a network from hacking by using specific tools to gathering information in an ethical hacking world.
Text Mining and Media Analytics
Taking your learning on from Fundamentals in Computer Science and Programming, this course aims to teach you how to have good insight on big volumes of text and understand some popular Machine Learning algorithms applied to Text Analysis. You will autonomously gather text information from various sources, discover latent aspects/dimensions in the text through various techniques and label the discovered aspects/dimensions. By the end of the course, you will be able to blend text mining with real-world applications.
