What is Orientation Week?

MU's Orientation Week is a chance for all new students to get acquainted with the university, Vienna, and each other. The week is full of fun events and informative seminars.

Yes, all new students must attend.

No. Orientation Week is free. All students should bring money for meals (after the first day), and deposits for building keys, events, etc.

Original copies of:

  • Passport
  • High School Leaving Certificate
  • Proof of proficiency in English (if necessary)
  • Your social security number (Austrian citizens only)
  • Your postal address in Vienna
  • 20 EUR for your university key deposit

Please also bring:

  • 20 EUR for your university key deposit
  • 20.20 EUR for your Student Union fee
  • Extra cash for orientation week events

All official documents will be issued during orientation week or the first week of classes.

You can apply to get a MU buddy who will pick you up from the airport and assist you with getting settled. For more information see the arrival information form and buddy information sheet in the email that will be sent to you.
