The Modul Basketball Club is a group of basketball players that gather during winter in indoors basketball courts to practice and play matches. Our main goal is to create a competitive environment where the members can play basketball and have fun. If you enjoy playing basketball and it is difficult for you to find a place to hoop during winter, consider joining our club.

"I believe that having a space for sport and competition can help the students of Modul University cope with stress in a positive way. Basketball is a sport that can teach you skills that are transferable to the professional life. For example, staying calm under pressure when you have few seconds left to make that important shot!"

Our mission is to work towards United Nations‘ sustainable development goals 1 & 2 – 'No Poverty & Zero Hunger'. Advocating for the marginalized people, the C4C Club raises awareness and takes appropriate action.
To reach our objectives, we host events in collaboration with Caritas (www.youngcaritas.at). Throughout the semester, MU students may donate clothes which they would otherwise throw away – we collect the items and give them to VinziShop Wien (www.vinzi.at). The money raised from the donations, will be reinvested to help the people in poverty back on their feed. To support the youth in need, we also donate clothes to Kolping Österreich (www.kolping.at).
Join our team and get involved – a challenge for change! Feel free to send us an E-Mail or leave us a message on Instagram.

Above all we want to bring Modulians together. People from different countries, with different stories and with different cultural backgrounds. The majority of the students of Modul are not German native speakers, which is why many of us take German classes at Uni. We believe that the best way to learn a language is to actually use it, and unfortunately the current situation forces us to reduce our opportunities to talk German. Join our club to make new friends and to meet people that have the same goal as you!
On a weekly basis, every Wednesday evening, we organize meetings with diverse topics to talk about. Culture, politics, food, wine, music, movies…whatever you are interested in can be discussed! We can also answer questions related to the German language, because as you know, the grammar can be quite confusing!
Our first meetings will be about:
- Who we are and our countries
- Coffee houses in Vienna
- Wine and beer culture in Vienna
- Amazing spots in Vienna

The MU Language Exchange Club was formed to motivate students to improve their language skills or encourage them to learn a new language.
Our club's main aim is motivation & fun. We make events (now online, twice a month on Thursdays or Fridays from 7pm - 8:30/ 9 ) where we watch movies in different languages (through Netflix). For beginners, of course English subtitles are provided. Our goal is that students find their passion and lose their anxiety when speaking a foreign language.
Currently, our focus belongs to the Romanian languages: Italian, Spanish and French. Due to location, we will explore German/Austrian as well. (If a demand of other languages occurs, we will manage to provide them as well, if it's possible).
As soon as the current situation allows, we plan further activities such as language cafés and dinners with dishes as well as theatre performances/ events around Vienna, that are typical for certain countries.

How to Start a New MU Club
Starting a new MU Club is a great way to get involved in the Modul community and connect with your fellow students. You can share your unique talents and gain really valuable experience as a club leader. It's super easy to get started:
Step 1 Develop an idea & name for your club: Make sure your idea does not duplicate an existing club listed above.
Step 2 Gather members & select leaders: There must be a minimum of 5 members and at least 2 leaders identified.
Step 3 Submit the Student Club Proposal Form, linked here or you can get the form from the SSAC.
Step 4 Once approved, develop a basic semester plan of activities and get started as an official MU Club!
