Petra Stolba (born 1964 in Vienna) studied Technical Chemistry at the Vienna University of Technology after her graduation from Technical High School, before she developed a passion for the creative industries. She thereafter graduated from an academic program for advertising and marketing at Vienna’s University of Economics and underwent a course in photography at Vienna’s Grafische Lehranstalt. A Master Degree each in Public Relations & Communication Science as well as Business Administration (with a focus on Tourism and Small and Medium-Sized Operations) and a Doctor’s Degree in Political Science followed.
Steps in her professional career reflect her enthusiasm for the tourism industry: She worked as a tour guide, organized a group travel section of a subsidiary of Österreichisches Verkehrsbüro, headed the Austrian Convention Bureau, was Advertising & Marketing Division Manager for an Austrian Provincial Tourist Board (Niederösterreich Werbung), Division Manager for National Tourism Politics in the Austrian Federal Ministry of Economy and Labour and she headed the Tourism and Leisure Time Division of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.
Since November 1, 2006 Petra Stolba has been CEO of the Austrian National Tourist Office.
