25th ENTER Conference: Awards, presentations and re-election for MU faculty

An annual highlight for tourism research, the ENTER Conference organized by the International Federation of Information Travel and Technology (IFITT) creates a forum for attendees from industry, academia, government, and beyond to exchange, share, and challenge the latest research and industry case studies which focus on the application of information and communication technologies to travel and tourism.

This year, an interdepartmental delegation of MODUL University Vienna faculty participated, presented, and were awarded at the 25th ENTER Conference held in Jönköping, Sweden from the 23-26th of January.

Lidija Lalicic (Department of Tourism and Service Management) co-chaired a PhD workshop held one day prior to the ENTER conference which attracted an international crowd of e-tourism researchers. In addition to the fruitful knowledge exchange, Daniel Leung, MU’s second PhD graduate, won the award for best PhD Dissertation in the field of e-tourism.

Lyndon Nixon (Department of New Media Technology) and Christian Weismayer (Department of Sustainability, Governance, and Methods) presented their latest research which focuses on online travel reviews and usage of user-generated photos.

To finish the week, Irem Önder (Department of Tourism and Service Management) and Lidija Lalicic were re-elected to the IFITT Board and will continue supporting the community of researchers in the field of e-tourism.
