Dr. Ursula Christine Loisch joins full-time faculty

The student body at MU continues to grow, so does our faculty. With over 100 new Modulians beginning their studies this semester, former external lecturer Ursula Christine Loisch has joined the full-time faculty. As a member of the Tourism Department, she has a full plate this semester as Assistant Professor/Senior Lecturer teaching Innovation and Change Management, Leadership and Ethics, Conflict Management, Leadership and Teambuilding, and Principles of Management, in both the BBA and MSc programs.

She holds a doctorate degree from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU), where she completed her dissertation on organizational culture in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). Prior to joining MU, she was a researcher at the Institute for Research on Qualifications and Training of the Austrian Economy, and a research and teaching assistant at the Institute for Change Management and Management Development at the WU. Her research interests include organizational culture, commitment and empowerment, and the creative industries.

In addition to her classroom activities, she is also Director of International Programs, overseeing exchange and international partnerships on a strategic level. MU currently has 19 partner universities in 13 countries, and every semester we send Modulians abroad and take in visiting students from institutions including the Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland; Victoria University, Australia; Hong Kong Polytechnic, China; and our newest partner, East Carolina University, USA. Ursula Christine will be actively involved in encouraging Modulians to make use of these great learning opportunities overseas.

In tandem with her business studies, she pursued courses in Art History at the University of Vienna, and her free-time activities have a decidedly cultural bent. Her love for strolling through the living grandeur of Imperial Vienna and its many museums is informed by her interest in architecture, painting, and music.
