MU joins World Tourism Forum Lucerne Young Talents Programme

MODUL University Vienna has partnered with the World Tourism Forum Lucerne (WTFL) Young Talent Programme to offer our highest achievers ‘’ the unique chance of exchanging ideas with top managers and further develop their personal network’’ at one of the most important conferences for tourism and hospitality professionals and academics worldwide.

Only universities recognized as excelling in the field of tourism studies are invited to become partners of the WTFL, and students from these institutions can compete to attend the biannual gathering in Lucerne, Switzerland, by submitting papers on a topic within the travel, hospitality and tourism industry.

Dagmar Lund-Durlacher, Dean of the Bachelor Programmes, is thrilled about the new partnership ‘’participating in the young talent programme is an opportunity for MU students to showcase their exceptional knowledge and skills and to discuss future challenges and innovative ideas with tourism industry leaders from around the world. Competition is tough since only the top students from selected partner universities will be able to participate in the competition.’’

The authors of the three best papers per university are invited to the next summit, where participation in the Young Talents forum offers them the chance to network and plan their careers. From the international group of students, the best three papers will be awarded at the conference with the Young Talents Award.

In Lucerne, students will have the chance to interact with CEOs, managers, and young professionals with industry experience from the private, public, and financial sectors, as well as academia and fellow Young Talents.  The aim is for participants to‘’shape together a more sustainable future of the industry,’’ and to gain new insights at all levels of age and experience.

The focus on innovation, interaction, and sustainability within travel, tourism and hospitality makes it an ideal partner for MODUL University and another opportunity for our students to expand their horizons and get practical experience while at university.

The next World Tourism Lucerne will take place from April 23rd-25th, 2015, and the Call For Papers for Young Talents is on now. MODUL University joins an illustrious list of international partners who will be taking part in next year’s event:
