New BBA in Tourism, Hotel Management and Operations
MODUL University Vienna is pleased to announce a third option for undergraduate education to add to its growing roster – the Bachelor of Business Administration in Tourism, Hotel Management and Operations.
This four-year, full-time, 240 ECTS program builds on the three-year BBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management with an additional year of practical and hotel management-focused training. It is designed especially for students with career goals in the hotel and restaurant industry.
The program is open to all high school graduates, and is intended for those without prior education in the area of hotel operations and management. In their first year of university studies, students will have a mixture of theoretical and practical training to build a solid foundation for working in the hospitality industry.
They will use the modern facilities at Tourism School MODUL, also in Vienna’s 19th district, for hands-on courses in Culinary Theory and Practice and Restaurant and Service Management. At the university campus on Kahlenberg they will learn the ins and outs of hotel management in courses such as Hotel Management and Operations, Rooms Division Management and Food and Beverage Management & Controlling.
In the second year, the curriculum joins that of the Bachelor of Business Administration in Tourism and Hospitality Management. Students will take courses in business administration, information management, communication skills, quantitative methods, law, economics & financial management, and advanced tourism and hospitality management, as well as a mandatory internship in the field, to equip them to take on managerial positions in the industry.
In both BBA degrees, students will have the opportunity to conclude their studies in one of three ways: a bachelor thesis, three additional enrichment courses, or a second internship of 3 months.
It is possible for students to begin in March 2013 – applications are still being accepted! Practical training courses will start in September 2013.
