At MU, Prof. Schwella will be addressing the topic ‘’Global Contextual Challenges: Public Leadership Implications”

‘’There are a number of very serious and powerful global contextual trends resulting in challenges facing public leadership globally, nationally and locally. The broad trends are in the areas of inequality, scarcity, sustainability, access, citizen expectations and poverty.

These trends impact severally and jointly in global, national and local systems to create challenges which at minimum can be seen as complex or even as wicked challenges for which there are no easy leadership answers and where the solutions to one aspect or a combination of aspects of the problem create new problems.

The talk will attempt to explore some public leadership options to deal with these challenges.’’
