Introducing an exciting collaboration between Modul University Vienna and the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, our flagship 3-year BBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management now offers a distinctive opportunity. Students can opt to spend 2 years in Hong Kong, extending the program to 4 years and earning a joint degree.
Starting Fall 2024, this partnership allows students to benefit from Modul's expertise in Vienna's tourism sector and the globally acclaimed School of Hotel and Tourism Management at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, ranked as the best in Hospitality and Tourism Management by the Shanghai Ranking (2023).
Upon completion of the 4-year program, students will be awarded two degrees:
- BBA in Tourism & Hospitality Management from Modul University Vienna
- BSc (Hons) in Hotel & Tourism Management from School of Hotel and Tourism Management at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University

START IN THE WORLD'S MOST LIVEABLE CITY
The first 2 years of the joint degree program will be spent at Modul University in Vienna. During the 4 semesters in Vienna, students will also follow a mandatory 960h internship.

The last 2 years will be spent at the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, part of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has pursued holistic cultures of knowledge transfer and interdisciplinary research through social responsibility and practical contributions for over 75 years. Inspired by the motto: “To learn and to apply, for the benefit of mankind.”
Students will obtain two degrees in the fields of Tourism, Hospitality and Management in a global environment: Vienna and Hong Kong.
In addition, you will also enjoy the benefits of our BBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management: you will gain professional experience with a 1 semester internship. Through a 960-hour internship, you will gain first-hand knowledge of the hospitality industry in some of the most well-known tourism and hospitality institutions in the world.
If you wish to acquire a more global and international experience, the 1-exchange semester is also an option of the joint degree.
Both the intership and the exchange semesters will be part of your studies at Modul University Vienna.

Please note that our joint degrees of the BBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management (Modul University Vienna) and the BSc (Hons) in Hotel and Tourism Management (Hong Kong Polytechnic University) are very competitive. A maximum of 10 students can enroll the joint tourism degree. Therefore, our Admissions committee will consider and pay attention to your high school transcripts.
Additionally, it is requested that all the students achieve a GPA of at least 75% during the first year of studies at MU to continue at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Applications for the two degrees are already open. Once you read our admissions information and you are ready to begin your application, please follow this link and choose the study program - called BBA Tourism and Hospitality Management (2 years in Hong Kong) in the application portal.
The joint degree program has a single intake per year, commencing in September. If a student requires a Foundation Program, it is advised to apply directly for the Bachelors starting in September. For those opting for the Foundation Program, classes commence in the preceding Spring, starting in February.
For Modul University students, adherence to the respective intake starts is crucial to prevent any disruptions in your progression to the 2 years in Hong Kong:
- If you have to start your studies first as a Foundation Program student, you can only begin the Foundation in the Spring intake (February).
- If you can start you BBA studies directly, you will have to apply for the Fall intake (September).
Application deadlines:
- Students who need Visa: April 1st
- Students who do not need Visa: June 1st
