Alexander C. Hubmann-Haidvogel is a Researcher and Lecturer at the Department of New Media Technology at MODUL University Vienna. He studied Telematics at Graz University of Technology and the University of Glasgow, specialising on information visualisation, information systems and multimedia. In his Master's Thesis titled "ThreadVis for Thunderbird - A Thread Visualisation Extension for the Mozilla Thunderbird Email Client", he developed an extension to the popular Mozilla Thunderbird email client, visualising response relationships between email messages in a compact visualisation.
Prior to working at MODUL University, he was a member of the research team at Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration responsible for the IDIOM FIT-IT Semantic Systems Project and was part of the development team at Gentics Software GmbH, a partner of the IDIOM project.
His current research interests include J2EE and Web 2.0 technolgies, information visualisation and information retrieval.
