A new forum for bold ideas on education, society, and global change
Modul University Vienna proudly launches The Kahlenberg Lectures, a new interdisciplinary lecture series designed to inspire debate, deepen understanding, and illuminate the evolving role of education in today’s complex world. Nestled atop the scenic Kahlenberg hill with panoramic views of Vienna, this lecture series reflects our commitment to connecting cutting-edge ideas with real-world challenges.
The inaugural lecture in the series, The Role of Education in a Changing World Order, will be held on the 24th of March 2026 and sets the tone for critical reflection and meaningful dialogue.
The lecture will explore how education systems are responding to shifting geopolitical realities, economic uncertainty, and social transformation. It will examine the responsibility of universities in preparing future leaders, strengthening democratic values, and supporting resilience in an increasingly complex global environment. The event is open to students, faculty, alumni, and the wider public, and will encourage active dialogue across disciplines and perspectives.
This lecture marks the beginning of a broader conversation and further Kahlenberg Lectures are already in development that will follow throughout the year, each focusing on key challenges at the intersection of education, sustainability, governance, and international affairs.
We invite our community and partners to join us at Kahlenberg for this new lecture series and to be part of an ongoing exchange that inspires, informs, and connects.
