The Buddy Program at MU Vienna: Discover, Connect, and Thrive!

The Buddy Program is a volunteer-based initiative that pairs current MU students with newly admitted international and exchange students. It aims to ease their transition to a new environment during their first months in Vienna and at MU. By becoming a Buddy, you have the opportunity to meet students from diverse cultures, contribute to the MU community, and potentially build lasting friendships.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Set Clear Expectations By Understanding Your Role And Responsibilities As A Buddy.

Support and Guidance:

While you aren’t required to become best friends or invite the incoming student to be your next roommate, please take the initiative to reach out and get to know this newest member of the Modul community. Help them make connections and settle in, whether that means exploring the city together, providing recommendations for hairdressers/restaurants/grocery stores, or inviting them to a club event with you

Flexible Involvement:

It is up to you to decide the extent of your involvement with your buddy. Be patient and understanding, as every student's needs and schedules vary

Active Engagement:

Contact and interact with your assigned buddy both before they arrive and throughout the semester. Check in with your buddy more frequently (~2-3 times) in the first two weeks of the semester to ensure they settle in
