On 12 May 2026, Modul University Vienna welcomed students, staff, partners, and guests to one of the most vibrant events on the academic calendar: International Day.
Held on MU’s Kahlenberg campus, the event brought together cultures, traditions, flavors, music, and personal stories from across the world. With students representing more than 75 nationalities, International Day reflected what makes the MU community truly distinctive: a global outlook, a strong sense of belonging, and a shared commitment to learning from one another.
Since its introduction in 2010, International Day has become a meaningful tradition at Modul University Vienna. Each semester, students transform the campus into a lively celebration of cultural exchange. Country stands offer traditional dishes, national clothing, music, decorations, and stories that invite the wider MU community to discover new perspectives and celebrate both differences and common ground.
This year’s edition once again showed that international perspectives are not only shaped in the classroom. They grow through direct exchange, curiosity, and openness.
“International perspectives do not only emerge in lecture halls, but wherever people from different backgrounds come into direct contact. This openness and mutual understanding have been part of Modul University Vienna for many years,” said András Viszkievicz, Managing Director of Modul University Vienna.
The event also carried a strong social purpose. Through voluntary donations for the culinary offerings, the MU community raised more than €1,000 for Teach For Austria, supporting the organization’s work toward greater educational fairness in Austria. The contribution highlighted how community spirit at MU extends beyond campus and connects cultural celebration with social responsibility.
A special highlight of the event was the country competition, which recognized the creativity, energy, and dedication students brought to their stands and performances. The top three countries this semester were Georgia, Austria, and Bulgaria, with Georgia taking first place.
International Day is more than a campus event. It is a living expression of MU’s values. It brings together global perspectives, academic excellence, and community engagement in one shared experience. It reminds us that diversity is not only something we speak about at MU. It is something we live, celebrate, and grow through together.
