LEARN OR IMPROVE A LANGUAGE

Another way to get more out of your time at MU, you have access to learn or develop your language skills. As an English-speaking university, German language skills are not mandatory in order to study at Modul, however some students might feel learning or improving their German language skills could enhance their experience of living and studying in Vienna.

Students can enroll with several language institutes across Vienna who offer a diverse selection of languages at various levels, accommodating different schedules and maximizing flexibility for each student.

While all these courses are not mandatory, this is a great opportunity to study a foreign language and enrich your university experience.

STUDENTS’ UNION

All students at universities in Austria form part of Austrian Student Union (Österreichische HochschülerInnenschaft - ÖH). Each year, elections are held to select representatives for the MU ÖH. These elected representatives act as advocates for the MU student community both on campus and at various internal university committees. They also encourage participation from the MU community, organizing a range of events throughout the semester.

EXCHANGE PROGRAMS

The student exchange program allows students from different universities to spend a semester at another university to diversify their experience and studies. It's not just about attending classes in a different country, different university, and different environment; it can be a life-changing experience that can enrich your academic journey and shape you as an individual.
We offer the opportunity for students from other universities to come and spend a semester with us in Vienna, as well as the opportunity for MU students to spend a semester abroad at another university.

Student and alumni engagement are at the heart of Modul University, and as Student and Alumni Services Coordinator, I have the privilege of supporting our students throughout their journey and beyond. Through clubs, social events, fairs, and networking opportunities, the Student Service Center encourages MU’s unique sense of connection. Students gain the chance to grow, network, and shape their university experience, while alumni continue to share their expertise and success stories, inspiring the next generation. For me, it is deeply rewarding to help foster these connections and witness how our community supports one another across years, countries, and careers.

Modul University Vienna does not own any student accommodation, however we have multiple agreements with student housing providers in Vienna.

Student life at MU is international, collaborative, and community-focused. Students can join clubs, attend events, and build a global network.

Students have access to academic advising, mentoring, career services, and wellbeing support throughout their studies.

The Student Services Centre organizes about 20 extracurricular events per semester, and they comprise a wide variety of topics: social, cultural, career etc. (see event calendar). Students are encouraged to join as many events as they like! 


Students can also start their own Student Clubs or join an existing club, currently active clubs include the Photography Club or the Wine Club.  

Vienna Airport boasts excellent connectivity to the city's public transport network, offering quick, comfortable, and cost-effective travel options.

  1. City Airport Train (CAT ) provides a swift link between the airport and downtown (Wien Mitte) with trains operating every 30 minutes from 5:37 am to 11:38 pm.

    ÖBB Railjet connects the airport to Vienna Main Station (U1) and Wien Meidling station (U6) twice an hour

  2. Express train S7 conveniently stops at key central stations like Wien Mitte (in about 25 minutes) and Wien Praterstern (in about 30 minutes). 

  3. Bus connections: The Vienna Airport Lines buses cater to various city destinations, including the city center, Donauzentrum, Messezentrum, Vienna International Centre (VIC)/Austria Center Vienna, Westbahnhof, and Vienna Main Station.
